Amazing Grace

My precious Mom, Grace, passed away three weeks ago today.  She truly was an amazing person--smart, funny, creative, and so loving to friends, family and strangers alike. She was tiny, at 4'10" or so but she was as mighty as she could be. This is a painting I did of her many years ago, before her hair turned silver. She loved finding shells and other interesting stuff on the beach and was always the first to spot treasures, perhaps because she was closer to the ground than the rest of us. I miss her so much.

  2. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I lost my Momma 13 years ago... yet miss her very much. She is woven forever into my life, like silver and gold threads woven into a tapestry, showing up here, then there... sometimes when I least expect it.

I know you will experience that same kind of thing, too. So sending you hugs and understanding.

How sweet to have this precious painting of her.

    1. Thank you, Retta. Yes, our moms are always right there with us. I hear her in some expressions I use, or sometimes in my laugh. Little did I know when I painted this so long ago how meaningful it would be for me some day.
